As a multi-generational Outer Banks native and a graduate of Manteo High School, my connection to this coast runs deep. I don’t just build here—I build for my neighbors in the place my family has called home for generations.

My journey in construction began in the 1990s while working my way through college. I started where it matters most: with my hands in the dirt as a house framer and trim carpenter. Over the years, I mastered the trade from the ground up, eventually becoming a Licensed General Contractor. To round out my hands-on experience, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting—giving A Thomas Construction a major advantage in precise budget management and total financial transparency.

Today, I run my business with full communication and daily, on-site leadership. I spend my days on the phone and emailing with clients to keep them informed, while actively working alongside my crew to lay out every job. From the initial framing and plumbing lines to the electrical layout and final trim work, I ensure every single detail is executed to the highest coastal standards.
